Australia Backs Out
On the eve of the 7th JiFFest, the festival director was notified by the Australian embassy that the A$18,000 from the Australian governments Australia-Indonesia Institute was being withdrawn.

AUSTRALIAN filmmakers have run workshops and screened their films at the 7th Jakarta International Film Festival (JiFFest). The Australian films at the festival were The President versus David Hicks, Dhakiyarr versus The King and We Have Decided Not To Die.
