Contemporary Clowns
Jogja Art Fair #2 claims to be the first contemporary art fair in Indonesia. The boundaries between biennale and art fair are becoming unclear. A STRING of white text on a bright-red background manages to get the attention of bystanders. It is written in an old typewriter font that gives a sense of duration. The ‘aged’ impression is further accentuated by spots of ink on a number of letters, which look like typewriter stains that had not been cleaned in a while.
