REPORTS of more deaths in Vietnam from the bird flu have alerted nations in the region to take more urgent measures to contain the spread of the disease. Vietnam is the country in the world hardest hit by the avian influenza. According to the World Health Organization, 13 of the 18 deaths reported until last week were Vietnamese, one of them a man who contracted the disease from his infected brother.

The Vietnamese cases put into question
