From the Dome of Berlin

On November 9, 1989, the Berlin wall fell. One year later, Germany reunited. No more West or East Germany. And this month, Germany celebrates 18 years of reunification. But there have been some new problems following the reunion, and not all of them are solved yet. Tempo’s Sunudiantoro stayed in Berlin to witness the country’s parliamentary processes and its expressions of democracy, including youth demonstrations. Following is his report:

BERLIN, from the dome of the national parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany. The sun in September is always bright. Sometimes it is dazzling but when it isn’t, the wind feels as if it’s piercing the skin. From this height, the green city’s panorama spreads far. The waters of the Spree River, the river that divides the city, flow calmly.
