Ambron, Lost in Klungkung

A collection of paintings and sculptures, the works of Italian artist Emilio Ambron, are stored in the Semarajaya Museum owned by the Klungkung regional government. The objects lack care and appreciation.

SIXTY centimeter tall bronze sculptures fill the space of two rooms in the Semarajaya Museum complex in Klungkung. Each measuring 6 x 8 meters, the sculptures depict the movements of a dancer: curvaceous and graceful yet at the same time also firm and powerful. Several are in the form of an unattired Balinese woman, in stunning proportions.
