LONG before anyone tried to revive the Jakarta Symphony Orchestra (OSJ), there was another symphony orchestra in Jakarta, called the Philharmonic Orchestra. The group was led by Ivone Baarspul of the Netherlands. The musicians were mostly foreigners, with the addition of one or two native Indonesians who had studied classical music.
