Geneva at the Crossroads

Even Geneva, a neutral city in Switzerland dubbed a global center for human rights, has not been able to avoid the Islamophobia “virus” which has afflicted Europe. Tantyo Bangun experienced the prevailing mood in this city where many humanitarian organizations are headquartered, while the Geneva Summit for Human Rights was taking place in March.

IF you land at the airport in Geneva, take a look at the wall alongside the conveyor which leads to the baggage claim area. There is something unusual there: the story of the tortoise and the hare is written along the length of the corridor. Line after line, the story tells how the little one with firm commitment can outdo the arrogance of the reckless superpower.
