Starting from Solo

Raden Ajeng Srimulat was born on 7 May 1908 in the village of Botokan near Kalten. Her name was a combination of the name Sri which means great or majestic and Mulat which means to see or to witness. She started her career in her youth with the Ketoprak Candra Ndedari which was owned by Ki Reksotruno. During the Japanese occupation, Srimulat began to play comic roles at the Sandiwara Bintang Surabaya.

In 1947 the singer was a gue
