Ireland Drags Its Feet

Two generals and a senior diplomat became the backbone in the process of destroying weapons in Northern Ireland. Its implementation remains at a standstill even though the IRA has been displaying the white flag.

GENERAL John de Chastelain landed in Belfast at the end of August. He joined his two colleagues who had arrived earlier in the capital of the autonomous Northern Ireland.
