The Wakatobi Islands

in Southeast Sulawesi are the “center of the world’s coral triangle.” This region has a large area of coral reefs, approximately 90,000 hectares. The sea around this area has the greatest variety of species: 942 species of fish, and 750 of the 850 species of corals existing on this planet are found in the seas around these islands.
