Not all marriages between Chinese-Indonesian women and Taiwanese in Singkawang end in happiness. Then Su Pin, a 21-year-old girl from Suisinjui hamlet in Karimunting village, 26 kilometers from Singkawang, is an example.
The sixth of 10 children of Jin Min Khiong and Ten Nyu Sin, Then Su Pin has known poverty all her life. Her 54-year-old father is a coconut picker and rubber tapper who is unemployed on rainy days.
