It seldom happens anywhere in the world. Indonesia is to put into effect soon a law that provides for sharing between the central government and the provinces of revenues derived from the exploitation of the nation’s natural resources.

Under Law No.25/1999, revenues from the exploitation of natural resources in oil and gas, general mining and the forestry and fishery sectors will be divided between the central governmen
