Richard Danziger, chief representative for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Jakarta, was one of the first people contacted by the authorities when an Indonesian fishing boat tragically sank in late October this year. The rickety vessel was carrying over 400 people who were hoping to reach Christmas Island. Only 45 of them survived. Since then, the IOM has been the focal point of efforts by government officials, NGOs and journ
