THERE is nothing special in the look of this island. There are hundreds of coconut trees growing among the residents houses. Other plants such as bananas, cassava, lamtoro trees and dry ilalang are nothing extraordinary either. Everything on the turtle-shaped island looks ordinaryfishing nets strung out in the sun and fishing boats lying idle on the shore.

One would notice something special in the small island off Madura only if one looks around.
