At TVRI, 'blessings' Every Friday
TVRI employees have engaged in a free-for-all of selling the company's airtime under the table and pocketing the money themselves. That is just one of the ways they siphon off the company's funds.

Television Republic Indonesia has a unique tradition. Every Friday afternoon, a unit manager comes to the directors' offices with a black bag. Inside are stacks of rupiah worth millions.
It is not just the executives who receive the windfall. Every member of a production team also gets a cash package. That explains why TVRI employees are always so happy near the end of the week. They even have a special term for the routine: 'Friday Blessings.'
