Prabowo Takes Charge of Foreign Policy

President Prabowo Subianto now dominates foreign policy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must align with the President’s agenda.

TWO days after his inauguration, Prabowo Subianto dispatched Foreign Minister Sugiono to Russia. Sugiono represented Prabowo at the BRICS Plus Summit in Kazan, Russia, on October 23-24, 2024. The summit was attended by, among others, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
