Dian Triansyah Djani, Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva:
Indonesia is a role model over here

Barely a month into his new posting in Geneva, Dian Triansyah Djani, 48, achieved a great ‘leap’ forward, which may go down in Indonesia’s diplomatic history as quite a feat. He is the first Indonesian diplomat to head the Trade and Development Board of the the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), since it was formed by the United Nations in 1965.

This UNCTAD seat is not the first of Trian’s many leaps. He becomes The Vice President of the UN Human Rights Council. At the very least, 10 international organizations list him among the ranks of their leading officials. Trian achieved all that in the short time that he took over the post on March 6, 2009, as Indonesian Ambassador to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization and other international organizations in Geneva.
