DAVID Jenkins waited quite a long time to launch his book, Suharto and His Generals, in Jakarta. Cornell University (Southeast Asia Program Publications) published the book way back in 1984. But Jenkins, a senior Australian journalist, who is currently writing a book on Suharto's early days, was only able to launch his book to the Indonesian public after more than two and a half decades.
