THE Gayus trial has put the spotlight once again on the Attorney General’s Office (AGO). At the South Jakarta District Court a few weeks ago, Gayus admitted having given US$500,000 to his former lawyer, Haposan Hutagalung, intended for Kemal Sofyan Nasution, Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes and his predecessor, Abdul Hakim Ritonga.

The devastating information coming out of the trial has given the newly appointed Attorney General Basr
