When he was still trade minister, Prof. Dr. Satrio Budihardjo Joedono used to hold up his battered old briefcase. According to Satrio, better known to his friends as Billy, he bought the briefcase at the Ancol art market in the 1980s. Now the 61-year-old Pangkalpinang native has served for almost two years as chairman of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), the battered old bag—repaired several times—is still his faithful companion.
