THE North Natuna Sea, or the South China Sea as China calls it, is under the spotlight again after the Chinese government reportedly protested against Indonesia’s oil and gas drilling there. Previously, it made headlines when many Vietnamese fishermen were caught conducting illegal fishing there. Currently, Indonesia has overlapping border claims with Vietnam and China over the area.
