Police Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan (center) following his fit and proper test by the House of Representatives' (DPR) Commission III, in his bid to be the National Police chief. He passed the test but then the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) charged him with corruption over suspicious money transactions. The Police retaliated by criminalizing the KPK's top twoAbraham Samad and Bambang Widjojantofor alleged trumped-up charges. Budi Gunawan is the current National Police deputy chief.
