ILLEGAL loggers are thriving amidst spreading unemployment and poverty in Indonesia. Loggers, middle-men and smugglers, in short anyone linked to the illegal logging trade are assured a prosperous standard of living, while honest people struggle to survive. According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, Rp42 trillion in illegal wood was smuggled out of Indonesia during the past five years.
