IF the film community expects the speedy birth of a new law on the film industry, such expectation will have to be deeply buried for the moment. This is because in spite of the processing of its draft for seven years now, its fate remains obscure. “We haven’t received it yet so far,” said a member of the Culture & Tourism Commission, Joko Santoso.

The bill designed to replace Law No. 8/1992 on the film industry has been drafted by the Depa
