Counting the Days
Deputy Attorneys General Untung Udji Santoso and Wisnu Subroto can be said to be “counting the days”. The results of tapped telephone conversations recorded by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)—presented in court on Wednesday three weeks ago—elaborated on a plan by the two senior prosecutors to “save” Artalyta Suryani. The businesswoman from Lampung in North Sumatra is alleged to have bribed prosecutor Urip Tri Gunawan. This is the next episode in the “story of prosecutor Urip,” who was caught red-handed by the KPK in early March, carrying Rp6 billion in cash.

Halius Husein’s supposition was way off the mark.
