ALTHOUGH on parole, David Nusa Wijaya, convicted in a BLBI funds case, was still able to go overseas. On Friday last week, after the uproar over his departure to Hong Kong, two immigration officials were ordered to fetch him.
The Attorney General accused the Department of Justice of failing to coordinate the release of the former Bank Umum Servitia (BUS) head who still owes the state more than Rp1 trillion. But the Department of Justice refuted the charge. The Department, said Justice & Human Rights Minister Andi Mattalata, coordinated with the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) when David was to be released. So what actually happened?
