The Prosecutor’s Last Act
Judges sentenced Urip Tri Gunawan to 20 years in jail, five more years than demanded by the prosecution. According to the panel of judges there were no mitigating factors to show leniency towards Urip—who was tried on charges of receiving a bribe of Rp6 billion. This is the heaviest sentence ever handed down by the Corruption Court.
