THE heap of burned ashes drew the attention of a number of Bali Regional Police detectives. On the spot where rubbish was burned down in the rear corner of the residence of Nyoman Susrama in Banjar Petak, Bebalang, Bangli, some 45 kilometers from Denpasar, the officers found a car carpet, jeans, and a partly charred chunk of wood. Black stains strongly believed to have come from blood were vaguely visible on the objects.

On Monday two weeks ago
