A Hidden Verdict
The West Jakarta District Court is suspected of handing down a verdict without holding a sentencing hearing. There were a number of alleged irregularities in the court hearing into the case.

THE excerpt from the sentencing hearing was finally received by Herawaty. Last May, she obtained the excerpt from the Tangerang Prison in Banten, the place where her husband, Amir Machmud, is serving a jail sentence. “I have been looking for the verdict for a year now,” said the 41-year-old when speaking with Tempo, who visited her home at Bulak Mekarsari Timur village in Bekasi, West Java.
