THE three women entered the 2.5-meter-square cell with sour looks on their faces. At midnight on Thursday last week, Artalyta Suryani, Darmawati Dareho and Liem Marita “officially” became new inmates of the Tangerang Women’s Prison after being transferred from their luxury cells at the Pondok Bambu jail in East Jakarta.

In her new home, Ayin, as Artalyta is called, will have to share a simple foam mattress with her two other cellmates. The
