Land disputes continue to make headlines. Under the New Order, an innumerable number of cases ended up in court, invariably with the landowners losing out. While most of the disputes then were brought by the citizens against land-grabbing businesses and the government, an increasing number of legal complaints are being filed today, by people claiming to be the rightful owners.

Last week, the Diponegoro Military Command in Central Java sued a fa
