The Constitutional Court rejected the appeal to revoke the Blasphemy Law. The House of Representatives was asked to revise the contentious legislation.

TWO constitutional judges, Maria Farid Indarti Suprapto and Harjono, did not take part, when, last Monday, seven other judges took turns reading out the ruling on the plea to review the Religious Blasphemy Law. Instead they sat straight in their seats and spoke out only when Constitutional Court Chief Justice, Mohammad Mahfud Md., rapped the gavel to announce that the court rejected the plea.
