TYCOONS-cum-big-bad-debtors are now facing a grim punishment, namely what the Dutch call gijzeling, which means detention for debt. Under Supreme Court Regulation No.1/2000, debtors with Rp1 billion or more in arrears can be subject to six months’ confinement in a state detention house.
