The Judicial Mafia Eradication Task Force identified irregularities in the dropping of the cases against 14 logging companies in Riau. It will report to the president if they are not reopened.

THE documents are still stacked high in the filing cabinets of the Riau Provincial Police. Besides photos and photocopies of licenses, there are also valuation documents for timber worth trillions of rupiah. The long-untouched files contain evidence implicating 14 companies with illegal logging in Riau. The investigations were halted on 22 December 2008.
