For the first time, the Business Competition Supervisory Commission found questionable practices of the food industry cartel. The Trade Ministry, suspected of involvement, is fighting it.

THERE seemed no great reaction when the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) read out its decision on Thursday afternoon two weeks ago. The dozens of directors of food importer companies present and their lawyers immediately got up and left, as did the government representatives.
