Investigating Coca Cola

For the first time, the police investigate an alleged violation of a groundwater utilization permit. Legal attorneys of the company hope a private dispute will not turn in to a criminal case.

On Tuesday last week, eight undercover police officers went in and out of every room at the Coca Cola Bottling Indonesia plant, searching for evidence. The effort had gone on for two days straight.

Earlier, the officers, from the National Police's Criminal Investigation Division (Bareskrim), sealed off an electrical panel and 13 wells belonging to the soft drink company.
