After three years of operation, the Bankruptcy Law has been proven incapable of solving credit jams. The law, replacing the previously inherited Dutch Faillissements-verordening of 1905, was formulated hastily in 1998. Now, in the name of improving the current economic restructuring program, the government has formed a team to re-revise the Bankruptcy Law. The almost completed revised law is due for discussion by the DPR in 2002.
