Many Indonesians complain about the excessively long process when applying for an identity card (KTP). But Pagar Demanra Sirait, 22, had to endure more than a long processing time. Pagar, who adheres to the Parmalim belief, experienced undue unpleasantness when he applied for a KTP at the Balige Civil Registration Office, in Toba Samosir, North Sumatra.
