Last week, a police officer gunned down a member of the public—in full view of a crowd of onlookers. Yet another innocent civilian shot dead this year.

This shooting has again scarred the face of the Indonesian police force. On June 23, Cecep Rohana, a civilian `timer' (in charge of directing and scheduling public transport) at Galur, on Jl. Letjen Suprapto in Central Jakarta, was shot dead by a stray police bullet. Cecep was just 21 years old.
