The Indonesian judicial world now finds itself in mourning. For the first time in Indonesian judicial history, a supreme court judge was gunned down in broad daylight. Last Thursday morning, Justice Syafiuddin Kartasasmita, 61, died of gunshot wounds from a 38 calibre revolver, on his way to work. He died at the scene of the incident at Pintu Air, close to the water gate on the Sunter River in Serdang, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.
