THE meeting at the Indonesian Ulema Council’s (MUI) head office in Menteng, Central Jakarta, in January did not initially discuss the Draft Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on Religious Harmony that governs the establishment of places of worship. At the time, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, who is also the Chairman of the MUI Advisory Council, gathered his team member to discuss other issues.
 
After the meeting, Ma’ruf chatted
