The High Court is investigating six Medan District Court judges on charges of accepting bribes. However, they have only been suspended from duty pending further inquiry.

Indonesia's endeavors to maintain a corruption-free judiciary have suffered another setback. Recently, three Supreme Court justices and one High Court justice from Jakarta were sentenced to one year in prison for accepting bribes.
