Madame de Syuga and the Chief Editor

A chief editor has been sentenced to one year's imprisonment for tampering with the photo of another person. Is this a real blow for the press?

THIS is very bad news for press circles. On Monday of last week, the Central Jakarta District Court sentenced the editor in chief of the magazine Indonesia: What's On, Warsito Wahono, to a one year prison term and a Rp10 million fine. Warsito was judged to have breached copyright laws because he had tampered with photographs of Dewi Sukarno from the book Madame de Syuga, without first seeking permission from the widow of the late Presiden
