Last Friday, November 29, the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) ratified Law No. 31/1999 on the Commission for Eliminating Criminal Acts of Corruption. House speaker Akbar Tandjung brought the session to a close. Ironically enough, he continues to chair the DPR, despite being sentenced to three years in prison on corruption charges.

During his closing speech, Akbar Tandjung was interrupted by House member Dwi Ria Latifa from the Indo
