Investigations into alleged corruption in the controversial Manulife case have come to a standstill, despite indications that three judges received illegal money.

In court, House of Representatives Speaker and Golkar Chairman Akbar Tandjung proved himself an experienced politician. During his plea in the courtroom at the Meteorology and Geophysics Building, at Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on July 31, Tandjung firmly denied all corruption charges relating to the use of State Logistics Agency (Bulog) funds amounting to Rp40 billion filed against him by prosecutor Fachmi.
