Once in a while, Abilio Jose Osorio Soares rubs the tattoo between the thumb and index finger of his right hand. The tattoo consists of a star with the inscription, "Star of Hope". It might have well reflected the former East Timor governor's desire for a hopeful verdict in his trial for human rights crimes at the Central Jakarta District Court.
