Bandung's legislative council has come under fire for allegedly embezzling Rp15 billion in state funds. Council leaders claim that the money was used to cover land allotment expenses.

Bandung's legislature building has become the silent witness of the alleged corruption carried out within its walls. Last Thursday, a crowd of 500 local residents demonstrated in front of the building, demanding to know why West Java's governor allocated Rp15 billion in state funds to the Bandung Regional House of Representatives (DPRD). "Where did the Rp15 billion go?" demonstrators shouted at the gates of the West Java legislative headquarters.
