THE Freedom of Information Bill will soon be deliberated at the House of Representatives (DPR). If enacted, the law will prohibit government officials from withholding information from the public. Under the law, public servants can be prosecuted for obstructing members of the public from exercising their right to freedom of information. Any government official found guilty of doing so faces a maximum penalty of two years in jail and a Rp5 million
