SAMADIKUN Hartono has become an expert in deception—vanishing from sight after being sentenced to prison. Hartono may have learnt this trick from a number of predecessors, including Hendra Rahardja, Sjamsul Nursalim, David Nusa Wijaya and Kaharudin Ongko. Rahardja, Nursalim and Wijaya were all convicted of misappropriating Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) funds. However, they all successfully evaded Indonesia's law enforcement
