An Abused Verdict

A court has sentenced two-star general Adam Damiri to three years in prison on charges of human rights abuse. But legal observers have criticized the verdict as too lenient.

LAST Tuesday, former Udayana IX Military District Commander, Adam Damiri braced himself as Ad Hoc Human Rights Court chairperson, Marni Emmy Mustaka read out the courts verdict over charges that Damiri was guilty of committing human rights abuse in East Timor.
